  • Cinnamon Spiced French Toast

    Give this brunch favourite a makeover with a touch of added spice. This french toast recipe combines a touch of vanilla essence and cinnamon to my staple recipe. Topped with ripe bananas and a generous pouring of maple syrup, this is simply heavenly. It’s a perfect treat for a weekend breakfast.

     

    Cinnamon Spiced French Toast

    Serves: 4
    Ingredients
    • 3 eggs
    • ⅓ cup of milk
    • ¼ cup of single cream
    • ¼ cup of caster sugar
    • 1 teaspoon of ground cinnamon
    • 1 teaspoon of vanilla essence
    • 20g butter
    • Loaf of brioche or challah
    • 3 bananas
    • ¼ cup of maple syrup
    Instructions
    1. Lightly whisk the eggs, milk, cream, sugar. cinnamon and vanilla essence in a shallow bowl.
    2. Heat a frying pan over medium-high heat and melt the butter until it is extremely hot.
    3. Cut the bread into 8 slices which are approximately ½ inch thick. Dip the slices into the egg mixture until well covered.
    4. Cook the bread in batches for 1- 2 minutes each side.
    5. Serve with halved banana slices and maple syrup.
    6. Enjoy! xxx
