1. Venture to the leafy Eastern suburbs to Dulwich and you will find one of the best brunch spots in Adelaide – the Corner Store Café – tucked away in Swift Avenue. Join the locals and their dogs on the pavement side tables in the sunshine and enjoy their top-notch coffee, excellent service and quality produce. If you are a sweet tooth like me, you can’t go past their fluffy pancakes served with passionfruit coulis, caramel and coconut.

2. The Crush Festival in the Adelaide Hills for its quality wine, food and entertainment. If you’re looking for a less hectic version of the Sea and Vines Festival, head to the Adelaide Hills wineries to enjoy the Crush Festivities. Some of my favourite wineries in the region are Shaw and Smith, Lobethal Road, The Lane Vineyard and Nepenthe. Whether you’re looking for a formal ticketed event or a casual picnic with the family, there is something for everyone here.

3. Gin Long Canteen in North Adelaide has recently welcomed star Thai head chef Nu Suandokami (ex Goldenboy and Nu Thai) to its kitchen. This bustling canteen style establishment in O’Connell Street is inspired by Hawker style Asian street food with a menu focusing on small and big plates. Expect big plates of succulent pork belly, sugarcane prawns and Larb Gai.

4. The city fringe suburbs in Adelaide keep getting trendier. The old heritage listed Bowden Railway Station has been  converted into one of Adelaide’s hottest brunch spots – the Loose Caboose. Expect great coffee, brunch and a buzzing atmosphere. Try to get their early on weekends as it gets busy!

5. Adelaide is developing some serious competition in the specialty coffee stakes. If you like good coffee, venture to Gilbert Street to the unassuming Paddy’s Lantern and you will be in for a treat. It’s definitely one of the best coffees you will find in Adelaide.

6. Little Miss Mexico for its summer beer garden, good vibes and quality cocktails – one of the best bars to hit Adelaide’s East End. Make sure you visit its sister – Little Miss Miami – around the corner in Frome Street. There’s no doubt that these bars will be a hit for tourists and locals alike during the Adelaide Fringe.

7. Tynte Street’s Caffeteca – an espresso and panini bar run by Maria and Rosey. It’s a perfect spot to enjoy a coffee before work in the morning or a lunch time meeting.

8. If you see crowds of hungry people gathering on Norwood Parade no doubt they are waiting for a seat at Norwood’s busiest café at the moment Argo Espresso. If you’re lucky enough to nab a table you can expect pretty decent coffee and a good selection of brunch time classics like eggs benedict, banana bread and French toast.

9. Pat-a-Cake Bakery on Duthy Street for their luscious selection of freshly baked cakes, sweets and savouries. We enjoyed a selection of their mini cakes for an afternoon tea party on the weekend – you can’t go past their banoffee pies and chocolate tarts. If you want to sit in, there’s also a nice café on site.

10. Fork on the Road – Adelaide’s monthly street food festival. Held at different locations every month, this is the perfect place to get your foodie fix from your favourite food trucks, bikes and stalls like Taco Coat, Veggie Velo and Phat Buddha. You will be guaranteed to have a lot of fun and go home with a very full belly.
